Hi there,

I've recently moved back to Nottingham and so have been looking for a group to get involved with (most of my gaming buddies have either moved away over the years or no longer play). I'm a massive Space Wolves fan and I have a massive Space Wolves army. 10,000pts and counting. I must admit that I'm more in to collecting and painting than I am gaming but being so close to Warhammer World, it would be rude not to get my toy soldiers out every now and then and show them off.

My army is in a bit of a state of flux at the moment. I've been drawn more and more in to the world of 30k so am in the middle of rearranging my great company in line with the Space Marine Legions army list in the FW HH books. This means turning all my 10 man Grey Hunter Squads in to 20 man Legion tactical squads, getting rid of the Tunderwolves and creating 10 man tactical support squads. So far (since Christmas) I've completed one 10 man Destroyer squad and undercoated my Storm Eagle. I'm currently applying transfers to a 10 man tactical support squad armed with meltaguns.

Things like Thunderwolves, 40k terminator armour and anything blatantly 40k is going to be gone. The rest of my squads are getting a heavy dose of Mk2, Mk3, Mk4, Mk5 and Mk6 armour mixed in with them and generally re-painting the squad markings, weathering and bases to take them from the snows of Fenris to the killing fields of Prospero and generally making them a lot grimier.

I'll keep you posted as the project progresses but in the mean time I shall show you what my army currently looks like. As for gaming, I have a wife and a young son but can generally get one pass out a month for games night on a Wednesday at WHW so if anyone fancies beating me over a beer, get in touch.

And close ups of my Destroyer Squad Sergeant. The look I am going for now is more grey and gold than grey and red, with lots of weathering using sponged on battle damage and FW weathering powders. Let me know what you think:

They look really good, nice work...not enough to persuade me to take up 40k again but almost....

Thanks for the comment. Come play 30k instead, it's way more fun than 40k!!
