I've been taking a break from painting orcs and goblins for the past few weeks and returned to those models at the bottom of the pile that i've been meaning to paint for ages.

I'm searching for a new project at the moment options being bugs, space wolves or the new naughty spaceelves.

Hi John,

Love the colours on the Genestealer, probably comes from painting Orcs and Goblins...

I don't think the photos done the Eldar justice, but really like the helmet conversion and paint job.

Seconded, been meaning to say for a while.

Would like to see some photos of the finished terminators I see lurking in the background :)

If youve ever got time on a thursday night to talk about how you blend I'd happily replace your time with a pint

There is a really good tutorial on blending here.

It's results might be a bit different to those John has achieved but it works really well on Space Wolves.

Not really sure i'm good enough to be describing my slap dash approach to painting. I tend to use a method of very watered down quite bold highlights (you can add a dash of drying retarder to make it easier) and then drag the edge furthest away from the highlight down, naturally watering the highlight out as you go and creating a smooth change. The tricky part is keeping control of the watered down paint. Its a bit time consuming and i'm still struggling with it. Another technique is to use the model itself as a pallett and mix the highlight and a base layer together on the model.
Anyway more to follow when i've finished my death company and chosen my next WHFB army.
Cheers

First HQ unit complete, loved the model but i'm dissapointed with the base.
Just ordered a storm raven (fuggly fuggly model but think it looks suitable...like a drop pod with wings) so no turning back from the
new army.
